   Introduction:
We have a new vacancy for an Electrical CAD Design Engineer with an understanding of cable harness construction and installation. you will be working for one of the biggest names in the UK Aerospace industry at their site in Amesbury, Nr Salisbury Job Specification: Specific responsibilities for which the post holder has a requirement to deliver • Understand the customer requirement • Electrical design point of contact for projects • Bid support • Develop design solutions • Produce wiring diagrams using ELCAD design tool for manufacture/installation/maintenance • Preparation of electrical load analyses • Conduct aircraft surveys • Leading the team at Design Reviews and meetings • Ensure tasks are completed to timescale and budget • Training and mentoring junior staff Knowledge, skills and personal qualities required • Experienced user of CAD tools and design techniques • An in depth understanding of cable harness construction and installation • An in depth understanding of electrical system components e.g. types of connector, backshells, cables etc. • A good understanding of system design considerations • An understanding of other disciplines Challenges • Development • Working to deadlines • Continuous improvement – adaptive to change Key accountabilities • Delivery of design solutions in line with project requirements • Maintenance of records in accordance with local procedures (ISO 9100) Behavioural requirements • Maintain clients values and behaviours • Team Player • Customer focussed • Leadership • Good communicator • Commitment • Flexibility Essential qualifications • Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship, or Military equivalent, with ONC/HNC in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering • Degree/HND in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering • Similar qualifications and relevant experience will also be considered Desirable qualifications • UK Driving License TO APPLY FOR THIS ROLE CANDIDATES MUST HAVE LIVED IN THE UK FOR THE PAST 5 YEARS AND HAVE UNLIMETED RIGHT TO REMAIN IN THE UK IN ORDER TO GAIN SECURITY CLEARENCE.
